Whitewater Rafting Trip Wear river sandals, river shoes or old tennis shoes and clothing you don't mind getting wet in (bathing suit and t-shirt). Don't wear flip flops because they will get lost. We sell river shoes at our store if you don't have anything for your feet. Don't need extra clothing on the river, we provide sweaters and ponchos if you get chilly and there is no place to change at the river. Lunch and drinks are included and there is a vegetarian option (you're responsible for other special dietary needs). Ages 4 and up. No experience necessary. Arrive at our store in downtown Banner Elk at either 11:00 am or 12:00 pm (depending on which trip you're on) and please don't show up early. The trip will return between 5:30 and 6:00 pm. Trips go rain or shine. The temperature at the river is 10 degrees warmer than Banner Elk and receives half the amount of rainfall. If checking the weather, check for Elizabethton, TN and between the hours of 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm.
