Question 1

Has the river been affected by the hurricane?

Accepted Answer

No. The river is dam-controlled and excess water is released from the dam before heavy rainfall. The river remains safe for rafting operations.

Question 2

How long is the rafting trip?

Accepted Answer

The adventure lasts approximately 3.5 to 4 hours including lunch. Travel time to the river is about 45 minutes each way.

Accepted Answer

Rafting trips operate in light rain. Weather conditions are monitored closely, and guests will be notified if severe weather affects operations.

Question 6

What should I wear for whitewater rafting?

Accepted Answer

Wear shorts, a t-shirt, and secure footwear such as river sandals or water shoes. Avoid flip-flops as they can easily be lost in the river.

Why do you raft the Watauga River?

The Watauga River offers consistent water levels, family-friendly rapids, scenic mountain views, and one of the most enjoyable rafting experiences in North Carolina.

Yes. Guests can ride the Anaconda Rapid multiple times during the trip, making the experience unique compared to other rafting companies in the area.

Question 10

Why does Edge of the World cost more than other rafting companies?

Accepted Answer

We focus on providing the best rafting experience rather than the cheapest price. Guests enjoy the largest rapid of the day multiple times. Discounts are available for groups of 30 or more people, active-duty military personnel, and returning customers.
